No good Punisher build exists without Remilla's Ol' Painless build, and this build is no exception. Definitely check out her guide for a more detailed explanation, Punisher theorycraft, and gearing alternatives. Also, if you look closely, this build's gearing is almost identical, so this isn't going to be a long guide.

 

Most Punisher builds use the chain gun, Ol' Painless, and take The Nuclear Option for the signature cooldown reduction. This build instead converts Punisher's Flamethrower into an ammo spender, adds a damage over time component to Pinneapple Grenade, and replaces Sniper Shot with Full Auto to give Punisher an extra weaving layer.

 

There are pros and cons to this build compared to Ol' Painless.

 

Pros:

 

  • Amazing AoE Clear.  Punisher can tag enemies with Flamethrower and/or Full Auto, then quickly move on because the dots will do the rest of the work.
  • Better dps uptime. Punisher's Flamethrower build has 4 damage over time powers opposed to Ol' Painless's two. Also, Flamethrower and Full Auto only need need to be tapped for their damage, whereas Ol' Painless needs to be fully channeled.

 

Cons:

 

  • Slightly worse single target damage. Flamethrower is still great dps, but it doesn't quite match Ol' Painless.
  • Less frequent signatures and therefore, burst. Without The Nuclear Option talent, Punisher's signature, The Davy Crockett, has no cooldown reduction and deals less damage. The longer cooldown also means less Sling Ring invulnerability and Bullseye's Deck of Cards has bad uptime and is not a good artifact this build.

 

 

Rotation

 

 

Flamethrower  + Full Auto  work as a dual weaving layers because they're both channeled powers. Also, both powers have secondary damage over time components, making them even stronger than the average weaving layer.

 

As a general rule, after the first pineapple grenade for signature, always hold down , and tap  roughly every half second. Yes, even when spamming ammo charges, you want the weaving/dot layers applying damage while burning through ammo charges.

 

To start:  ->  -> Start the weaving process mentioned above -> Alternate  and  until spent ->  -> weave  and  until ammo is under 25% -> , then repeat the process. Use  whenever it's off cooldown.
