Welcome to another build by DoomGodFiz! These guides are built and put together for enjoyment of the character and gameplay. These are not built for the 'meta' or for any TTK rankings. That said, all of my builds are viable for all content.

** Disclaimer **

My builds are put together while playing on the Council of Ancients server. This server offers boosted Exp gains, CoolDown reductions, higher drop rates, and a few other percs. It's a server designed to be fast paced for those that have lives outside of gaming. While they should also be viable on other servers out there, they are specifically designed for this server. So keep that in mind when referencing my builds.

The next character on our build list is probably my second faovorite character in the game, and my most played when this game was live... before he got pulled anyway. Marvel's biggest hot head (quite literally in this case), someone who is always too hot and never cold... Johnny Storm, otherwise known as The Human Torch!

The Human Torch is an AoE powerhouse, he survives in any scenario you throw him in. He is fantastic in large groups, one on one boss fights, and pretty much any type of gameplay you throw him in.

With this build, he has burned throuhg his Cosmic Trial, he'll blaze through any Cosmic Terminal put in his path, and he will rain fire from the heavens in any Patrol you decide to take.

** Talents, Rotation, and Power Bar **

For our Talents,

  • Fuel for the Fire
    • This gives us a constant DoT on anyone we hit with any of our powers. Great for burning down adds as we burn everything in sight.
  • Flame Cyclone
    • Our Tier 2 Talent is one I cannot make a firm decision on, and will go into detail below.
  • Heat Wave
    • This further boosts our Flame Tornado power by boosting it's coverage area, overall damage, and gives it a gauranteed crit.
  • Ring of Fire
    • This gives us quite a bit of survivability, with a Damage Absorbtion and Rapid Regen buff.
  • Human Bonfire
    • This makes our biggest spender even more explosive. Making Extreme Combustion one of the best AoE abilities in his toolbelt. This removes the Heat Cost, increases damage, and increases the Damage Bonus gained for our total Heat.

As for alternates, the only one I struggle with, and still swap back and forth on is our Tier 2 Talent.

  • Flame Cyclone: This makes our Makes our Fiery Tornado spawn a Burning Whirlwin of fire and destruction that seeks out enemies and deals a decent amount of damage as a DoT. We now have 2 charges of the power allowing for multiple Tornados to be in play at the same time.
  • Wave of Flames: This changes our Scorching Wall power into Wave of Flames. In place of a stationary wall of flame, we send forth a wave of destruction that deals heavy damage on hit, applies a DoT, and weakens the enemy for 8 seconds. As with Flame Tornado, it fits well in the rotation and just feels right.

The reason I go back and forth is I love Wave of Flames, and I love having that on demand storm of fire. Scorching Wall just doesn't do it for me, and bosses don't drop as fast as I like when I don't have that tornado. Toy with both, see which one you like more and burn with it!

The way I have the power bar set up, is the same as I have it when I play (as I do with all my builds). I'll go over the main rotation.

1. Homing Flares is our Target Lock LMB ability. It's also our filler ability. You can also use it without a target and they will seek out the nearest enemy to rain fire upon!

2. Scorching Pyre is a massive AoE ability that does decent damage and applies Vulnerability as well as a DoT. You'll want to use this off cooldown.

3. Burning Volley is our next ability, and I don't use this in my normal rotation, but rather to pick off packs of trash mobs while questing or running the Danger Room.

4. Next up is our Fiery Tornado (Flame Tornado in game). This is a massive AoE Melee attack that spawns those beautiful cyclones of fiery devestation! It hits HARD, deals a whopping 40% more damage vs any enemy that is burning (which they all should be by this point) and has 2 charges.

5. Protective Flames is our survivability power. We are granted a Damage Absorption Shiled equal to 10% of our max Health, a 6 second Health Regen, and a 20% boost to our movement speed.

6. Extreme Combustion is our big spender. It has a VERY large area centered on us, deals massive damage, and thanks to our talent taken above, doesn't consume our built up Heat!

7. Flame On our beautiful Signature Ability. This instantly fills our Heat gauge, hits for MASSIVE damage in a large area, and gives us a beautiful 20% Critical Hit and Brutal Strike Chance buff lasting for 8 seconds.

UltimateGoing Supernova this is one of those Ultimate Abilities that you just love to use as often as possible. You literally rain fire from the sky, filling the screen with death and destruction. Along with that, we get a hefty 50% Movement Speed buff, and a +100% Damage bonus vs Burning enemies. Which, thanks to our Tier 1 Talent, every enemy is burning. I tend to use this Ultimate more than I use any other, save maybe Doom.

As far as alternate Power options go, this goes back to my issue with the Talents.

  • Burning Volley is what I currently have on my bar. It does high end low tier damage in a large area and has a midrange attack speed. I take this over the stationary Scorching Wall as enemies tend to constantly be moving.
  • If we swap our Tier 2 to get Wave of Flames, I'll put this in place of Burning Volley. Wave of flames hits in the midrange damage tier, applies a nice DoT, and weakens any enemy it passes through for 8 seconds. The downside, is that we lose those beautiful flaming whirlwinds of destruction!

So the coice is yours, both are strong options and I tend to swap them in and out based on what I'm doing.

** Gear **

** The above items are by no means the end all be all for this character, they are simply what I find works best for my build. **

Our main stats with our favorite Burninator (sorry Trogdor) are Speed and Energy, I tend to focus more on Energy over Speed to get those Heat costs down as much as possible.

For those pesky RNG Affixes that we have no control over, I usually go for the following order:

  • Critical Strike Rating
  • Brutal Strike Rating
  • Attack Speed
  • Energy
  • Brutal Strike Damage
  • Critical Strike Damage
  • Speed

ARTIFACTSSo what I have listed above is pretty much the ultimate set up for this build. All I would consider BiS, but there are options. All three can be found as Cosmic Artifacts as well.

BLESSINGS: As per most of my builds, I love the utility of having Odin as a Blessing. However, you can also go with the Heavy DPS of 4x Blessing of Hela.

URU RUNEWORD: If I didn't get the near perfect roll on mine for Mental and Energy damage buffs, I'd have gone with one of the following. This also works if you're having poor luck with getting Doop runes to roll that nice URU:

  • Fire Barrage for obvious reasons.
  • Bowazon giving you a possible physical damage proc
  • Heartbreaker which is a small verison of a Gem of the Kursed
  • Valkyrie's Legacy if you're looking for some additional survivability and spirit management

MEDALLION: I'd consider this the best option with this build. You can also use one of the following:

RELIC: As with most non-summoner builds, we want to take what I have shown. There are always options:

LEGENDARY: As we want as many Brutal Stirke boosts as we can, this is hands down the best option. However, a solid alternative is Savage Axe of Ares.

RING: So, there are a few choices for your ring, and I'll list them here. Note that the ring in the build above is the one I'd go with.

  • Bloodstone Demonband as always, a perfect one of these is your best option (max stat for Grade 63 Ring is given):
    • +1 Energy
    • +1 Speed or +441 Defense Rating
    • +294 Brutal Strike Rating
    • +989 Brutal Damage Rating
    • +279 Energy Damage Rating
    • Regenerate 63 Health when defeating a Demon
  • Ring (offensive) a solid rolled Ring with 2 of the following (in order from most important to least):
    • +3 Energy (or Speed)
    • +1500 Brutal Damage Rating
    • +642 Brutal Strike Rating
    • +9% Attack Speed
    • +900 Critical Damage Rating
  • Industry City Signet (energy)
  • S.H.I.E.L.D Graduation Ring

All of the above rings are solid choices. The reason I prefer the Sling Ring is for the added survivability it provides.

UNIQUES: There's always so many choices for Uniques, and probably the area I always struggle with to find what I like. His personal Uniques will also do the trick nicely while you try and find / farm for what's listed.

For our Enchants, we want ARMOR Area Damage in slots 1 and 5, and ARMOR Spirit in slots 2, 3, and 4.

  • If you need more survivability, throw in ARMOR Defense or Dodge Rating enchants.

For our Challenge Bonus, I go with +1 Energy in all 5 slots.

CATALYST: If, and that's a big IF you happen to find one with both Energy and Speed on it, that's your go to, hands down! The other two stats wouldn't matter, nor would the cosmic as the +6 to our core stats would outshine anything else. However, as I've only ever seen one Catalyst with a +3 to any two Attributes, in all the years I've played this game... we will want something close to what I have above.

For your Catalyst affixes, you have some options:

  • Spirit on hit to help with spirit management if needed, but with this build you shouldn't
  • 10% Experience gain (always helps with getting those sweet sweet infinity points

INSIGNIA: Frankie Raye fits this build perfectly with its damage proc chance on hit and the Energy Damage Buffs it provides. You can also go with the following:

Our faithful pet (the Pet I have above is the optimal stats you'd want to have for each catagory). And yes, I carry an Ice Golem around with me because it's the one thing that can't be melted away!

  • Green: +8% Base Health
  • Blue: +50 Spirit to keep our Overheated buff up as much as possible
  • Purple: +10% Brutal Damage
  • Yellow: +4% Brutal Damage and +4% Attack speed on hit
  • Orange: +3 Energy

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

** INFINITY **

** How I have the Infinity Points spent is what I would consider the optimal route to take for this build. **

That being said, you would want to focus on the following:

Brutal Strike Damage

Critical Strike Damage

Attack Speed

Energy

Spirit

Brutal Strike Chance

Critical Strike Chance

Speed

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

** TEAM-UP **

** Team-Ups are by no means build breaking. Always use who you like, but I'll give the reasons why I choose whom I choose and some solid alternate options **

is a fantastic Energy support Team-Up. I keep her locked away safe from the inferno that Torch brings. Passively (Human Lightshow) she grants us the followig:

  • +1 Energy Attribute
  • +190 Energy Damage Rating
  • A Team-Up Away Power that applies a Mid-Ranged DoT in an area for 4 seconds
  • A Team-Up Away Power that hits hard and applies a 1 second stun
  • A Team-Up Away power that hits hard and causes knockdown

For an Active Team-Up, it's really up to you as they all work out quite well, but two stand out in my opinion:

Agent Coulson takes the award for best Active DPS hands down.

Rescue is, in my opinion, the best Active Healing Support you can find. She also does quite well in a passive role for healing.

For a more passive approach, and those that like to keep their Team-Ups locked away, we have the following:

She is the award winner for best overall debuffing and crowd control support.

 &

These two fit the bill for solid support and healing, along with decent DPS.

Groot is going to be your option for devensive buffs and healing support. His healing falls short compared to Strange and Clea however.

Summoners, my favorite kind of build to play, and we have so many sweet options to choose from. All of these options can be used passively or actively offering different benefits on both sides.

Actively: She is a summoner that offers decent DPS and 2 summons of her own.

Passively: She offers +152 Damage Rating and +12% Summon Power Base Damage, along with activated summons and a Critical Hit buff.

 &

Actively: Our favorite Agents are summoners that bring a Turret and two summons to the table and offers mid range DPS.

Passively: He give us +152 Damage Rating and +12% Summon Power Base Damge, an activated Turret and Summon, along with an activated Defense and Deflect Rating buff.

Actively: She summons a swarm of demons to fight alongside us, deals out some decent damage, and has a life steal ability.

Passively: She summons that same swarm of demons, offers +152 Damage Rating, +10% Summon Power Base Damage, and 33 health on hit.

As far as DPS goes, passively you'll want to find a Team-Up that supports your character either with an Attribute Bonus or Stat bonuses. There is however one unique option that I sometimes play with.

This Team-Up is unique in that it does not have an active setting. All of its powers are buffs and additions to when you call in an Air Strike by way of "summoning" your Team-Up.

In the Companion (Active-Left) Role it offers a +3% Damage Reduction

In the Assit (Away-Center) Role its Air Stirke gets a +50% Damage Bonus and a 10% Cooldown Reduction

In the Extreme Conditioning (Away-Right) Role it offers a flat +228 Damage Rating buff.

It's Air Strike can be used in any role, and the buffs that it gains from its powers apply to the Air Strike in any role.

** Closing **

At the end of the day, this is a game, and games are all about having fun, so play around and enjoy! I want to thank you for taking the time to read throuhg my guide and I hope you check out my other builds. I'll eventually have one build for each character.
