CoA BannerWelcome to another CoA 1.0 build by DoomGodFiz! These guides are built and put together for enjoyment of the character and gameplay. These are not built for the meta, tier listings, or any TTK rankings. That said, all of my builds are viable for all content.

** Disclaimer **

My builds are put together while playing on the Council of Ancients server. This server offers boosted Exp gains, CoolDown reductions, higher drop rates, and a few other percs. It's a server designed to be fast paced for those that have lives outside of gaming. While they should also be viable on other servers out there, they are specifically designed for this server. So keep that in mind when referencing my builds.

Meet the God Emperor, the Destroyer, my absolute all time favorite villain in the entire Marvel Universe; the one and only...

Doctor DOOM!

He is the ruler of all for a reason, even after summoners took a major hit, he still could (with some reworking) hold his own. He has minions for days, he is able to hit with physical, mental, and energy depending on the need, and its DOOM!

The build itself was one that went through a few reworks since I started on CoA. Where it stands now I feel is a solid footing until individual character reworks hit Doom. I've cleared the Cosmic Trial, most Cosmic Terminals, and Cosmic MIdtown so long as others are around.

** Talents, Rotation, and Power Bar **

For our Talents and Traits we go all down the right side for this one.

  • You Cannot Resist
    • This grants us a buff every time we hit with a power for 10 seconds on a 4 second cooldown, and it boosts our Declaration of War by granting two additional minions.
  • Eternal Guardians
    • This talent allows us to use Declaration of War on any hit we make with any power. This also boosts all of our minions health and damage output.
  • Deploy Doombots
  • A Man of Many Talents
    • As we really do not use many resource spending powers, this is the obvious choice for our Tier 4 taletn. We get a health regen / second, resource generation per second, and a Rebirth on a 10min cooldown. You can swap this for Magic Supreme if you want the bonus to your Magic pool to more easily trigger the Damage bonuns from Deploy Doombots. Thought it shouldn't be an issue as we only really have one spender.
  • Doom's Legions
    • What's a God Emperor without his army? This talent transforms Technical Tyrant into Lord of Latveria. This now summons 6 Servo-Soldiers with a duration of 10 seconds. They have a decent damage output for a minion as well as solid survivability. With the ability having a 20 second cooldown, this is easily spamable in boss fights.

Alternate Option: Outside of our Tier 4 talent which I went over during the breakdown, the other alternate option is on Tier 2. If having that summon on hit isn't that important to you (which we have an open spot on our cast bar if we wanted to add it to our rotation, we can instead take Doom Upon You which boosts Eldritch Reckoning by adding a mild DoT that lasts for 8 seconds, and restores our Magic resource when we deal mental damage to those affected by the DoT. Either way you go, you should do fine as the DoT makes up for the 10% loss in Minion Damage.

The way I have the power bar set up, is the same as I have it when I play (as I do with all my builds). I'll go over the main rotation.

1. Open with Eldritch Reckoning making those we are targeting Vulnerable, and summoning our first wave of Doombots and Flyers.

2. After we have made those cretins vulnerable, we want to drop a bomb on them, literally. Launch Latverian Air Defense and use it off CD.

3. You can go ahead and target lock with Conjured Barrage which is also our filler, specific to this server, this also grants our minions a 100% Crit Rating buff for 10 seconds on a 15 second cooldown.

4. Now we begin to summon the remaining troops. Do so by casting your choice of (Latverian Blockade, Latverian Inferno, or Latverian War Drums) as each ability will summon all. You will want to use this off cooldown.

5. Now we launch the strike team with Lord of Latveria which, thanks to our Sharabus Neotum (mental) will also call in a group of Mayhem Demons. As with all our minions, we want them out as often as possible, so be sure to use off CD.

5a. In boss fights or groups with tougher enemies we want to use Worthless Cretin to direct our army to attack that target, this attack also hits quite hard. Be sure to use this off CD.

6. In boss situations, show them why you are the God Emperor and launch Doom's Day making sure to left click and move around the boss to keep them in your crosshairs.

You'll notice there is an open slot on our power bar. This is dealers choice. I've used Crumble, Fools for a close range attack if I get swarmed, I've used Channeled Torment in raid boss encounters, I've also toyed with Beneath Doom's Boot just for the fun of it. There are many routes we can take here, currently I've swapped my Tier 2 talent and am using Declaration of War in this spot.

Final Rotation:  into  into  filling with  into  and focus attacking with .

** Gear **

** The items above are by no means the end all be all for this character, they are simply what I find works best with my build. **

Our main stats with Doom are Energy and Intelligence, I tend to focus on Intelligence for the added Crit bonuses.

ARTIFACTS: The above is what I am currently using (or working on getting). There are always alternate options. Some of them are as follows:

BLESSINGS: I almost always go for Odin's Blessing. If however you want as much damage as you can muster, go ahead and get the Blessing of Hela on all four artifacts.

URU RUNEWORD: If you are having issues getting the Doop Runes for this, a good alternative is one of the following:

MEDALLION: Probably the best Medallion for Sumoners. However, a few alternates:

RELIC: With the way our minions scale off of our stats, this is our best option.

LEGENDARY: With summoners, I always default to this. We can however use one of the following for better minion scaling:

  • Gungnir which boosts our crit and only our crit
  • Savage Axe of Ares boosts our critical hit, brutal strike chance and damage, and a chance at a nice DoT

RING: The ring I have posted is actually the one I'm using. I got DAMN lucky on the blender. However, if you're not that lucky, here are some alternate.

UNIQUES: I always seem to get called out on uniques. However, what I have listed is what I'm currently using and it does just fine. I'm always open to suggestions however and will gladly test them out.

For our Enchants, we want ARMOR Damage to Summon Powers in slots 1 and 5, and ARMOR Health in slots 2, 3, and 4.

For our Challenge Bonus, I go with +1 Intelligence in all 5 slots.

CATALYST**Disclaimer** If, and that's a big IF you happen to find one with both Intelligence and Energy on it, that's your go to, hands down! The other two stats wouldn't matter, nor would the cosmic as the +6 to our core stats would outshine anything else. I want to add that I have seen others link such items in chat or Discord, but have not seen anything personally. That said, what I have above is always a solid choice, but others will make a solid arguement for one of the below affixes.

With that being said, another alternative is getting a +10 Experience Gain to help with those IPs!

INSIGNIAInsignia of Nick Fury is and will always be the best choice for summoners.

Our faithful pet (the Pet I have above is the optimal stats you'd want to have for each catagory).

  • Green: +8% Base Health
  • Blue: +50 Spirit
  • Purple: Brutal Damage
  • Yellow: +4% Brutal Damage and +4% Attack speed on hit
  • Orange: +3 Intelligence

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

** INFINITY **

** Infinity Points have no hard cap on how many points you can earn. So rather than putting points in place in the Infinity Tab, I list here what I consider top priority starting at the top. **

That being said, here are Doom's IP Priorities:

  • Attack Speed / Movement Speed
  • Critical Hit Damage
  • Brutal Strike Damage
  • Intelligence
  • Brutal Strike Chance
  • Critical Hit Chance
  • Health on Hit

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

** TEAM-UP **

** Team-Ups are by no means build breaking. Always use who you like, but I'll give the reasons why I choose whom I choose and some solid alternate options **

Who else but Doom can accompany the God Emperor? Passively we get the following:

+300 Mental Damage Rating

+10% Base Health

A Team Up-Away Power that gives us a buff that gives us a +150 Damage Rating and a Mental based DoT for 6 seconds

A Team-Up Away Power that buffs us granting a +360 Defense Rating and an Energy based DoT for 10 seconds

A Team-Up Away Power that slows and weakens the enemeis in an AoE

Though, I use him Actively. As such we get solid Mental and Energy damate as well as a steady slow and weaken debuff.

For an Active Team-Up, it's really up to you as they all work out quite well, but two stand out in my opinion:

Agent Coulson takes the award for best Active DPS hands down.

Rescue is, in my opinion, the best Active Healing Support you can find. She also does quite well in a passive role for healing.

For a more passive approach, and those that like to keep their Team-Ups locked away, we have the following:

She is the award winner for best overall debuffing and crowd control support.

 &

These two fit the bill for solid support and healing, along with decent DPS.

Groot is going to be your option for devensive buffs and healing support. His healing falls short compared to Strange and Clea however.

Summoners, my favorite kind of build to play, and we have so many sweet options to choose from. All of these options can be used passively or actively offering different benefits on both sides.

Actively: She is a summoner that offers decent DPS and 2 summons of her own.

Passively: She offers +152 Damage Rating and +12% Summon Power Base Damage, along with activated summons and a Critical Hit buff.

 &

Actively: Our favorite Agents are summoners that bring a Turret and two summons to the table and offers mid range DPS.

Passively: He give us +152 Damage Rating and +12% Summon Power Base Damge, an activated Turret and Summon, along with an activated Defense and Deflect Rating buff.

Actively: She summons a swarm of demons to fight alongside us, deals out some decent damage, and has a life steal ability.

Passively: She summons that same swarm of demons, offers +152 Damage Rating, +10% Summon Power Base Damage, and 33 health on hit.

As far as DPS goes, passively you'll want to find a Team-Up that supports your character either with an Attribute Bonus or Stat bonuses. There is however one unique option that I sometimes play with.

This Team-Up is unique in that it does not have an active setting. All of its powers are buffs and additions to when you call in an Air Strike by way of "summoning" your Team-Up.

In the Companion (Active-Left) Role it offers a +3% Damage Reduction

In the Assit (Away-Center) Role its Air Stirke gets a +50% Damage Bonus and a 10% Cooldown Reduction

In the Extreme Conditioning (Away-Right) Role it offers a flat +228 Damage Rating buff.

It's Air Strike can be used in any role, and the buffs that it gains from its powers apply to the Air Strike in any role.

** Closing **

At the end of the day, this is a game, and games are all about having fun, so play around and enjoy! I want to thank you for taking the time to read throuhg my guide and I hope you check out my other builds. I'll eventually have one build for each character.
