This is the build I am running on my Jean for the official launch of Tahiti 1 in 2026. The goal of this build is the be able to comfortably farm cosmic content (terminals/midtown/etc) with the goal of acquiring a diverse collection of gear to be used for future characters or for a higher dps Mental Jean build.

This is not a max dps build but more focused on a balance between dps and toughness. The gear presented in this build is the end-goal for the build, but obviously since this is intended to be a build for a fresh start you won't just have all the items - they must be farmed. I will try to provide substitute examples for most of the equipment slots that can be used in the short-medium term while farming. I have not allocated any Infinity Points because different stats might feel more comfortable for different people. As of the writing of this guide all my IP (151 so far) are allocated to +% Base Health because I am missing defensive utility from my Catalyst and Cosmic Artifacts. As I get more toughness from other sources I will re-allocate my IP into more offensive stats such as +signature damage (affects Debris Storm and Crushing Telekinesis).

A quick note on talents - the final talent tier is flexible between Controlled Engagement and Vertigo. Vertigo is more dps but I leaned really hard on the frequent shields from Controlled Engagement during the first week. If you feel like you are dying too much stick with Controlled Engagement and remember to use Psychokinetic Barrier every time it is available

Artifacts - Every artifact I chose has HP on it in addition to dps stats. I chose to pursue HP because the absorb shield from Psychokinetic Barrier scales with your total HP. For extreme early game you can use artifacts such as Advanced Super Soldier Serum or Advanced Starstone Tooth to help you stay alive until you get better gear. For blessing I chose Loki instead of Hela because I am not a fan of Brutal Damage Rating until you are approaching full BIS. Since blessings can be transferred you can just get Hela if you want in order to save yourself the Odin Marks later

Relic - Lemuria to start to help with sustain and then Atlantis later when you want a bit more dps

Uru - As of the writing of this guide I am using Viking Vitality until I can acquire the runes to craft Bowazon

Legendary - Gungnir for level 70 Legendary. If you want to upgrade to a level 80 Legenary for this build Casket, Apollo, and CCR are all pretty close to each other. Since I am planning on swapping to a Mental Build I will be sticking with 70 Gungnir

Ring - Kamar-Taj provdes a decent amount of DPS alongside a lot of HP. A cosmic crit dmg ring with any combination of Intelligence + another relevant dps stat will be better if you feel comfortable dropping the hp.

Slots 1-5 - Fragment of Twilight is BIS so you should definitely work towards unlocking the recipe and crafting it, but Jean's Unique Slot 1 is very strong until then. For Slot 2 you want to keep an eye out for a cosmic piece with int/energy/crit but until you find one you can use any of Jean's own uniques (Cosmic Egg > Crest of the Black Phoenix > Time Traveler's Uniform for dps) or a Doomsday Chair if you happen to get one. Doomsday Chair is less dps than Cosmic Egg, but has more HP. For Slot 5 use Revolution's Red Face Mask until you get Cobra's Hood. Cobra's Hood gives you a source of Vulnerability since Phoenix Jean loses her only personal source of Vuln due to her first talent.

Catalyst - Prioritize the cosmic affix for the shield over everything, and then the healing affixes over dps

Insignia - Other good options are Quake, Cyclops, Phoenix, and Storm. Really you just use whatever drops
