Full AoE and CC included in your optimal DPS rotation, constantly spawning illusions to pull the attention away from you. 

= = What is this build good for? = =

You will have near full AOE DPS, so cleaving through adds or bosses doesn't change the playstyle. For patrols you can apply full DPS on all 6 bosses if they are even remotely close together, and in other content you will be clearing adds that approach by accident. Illusions make the build comfy as enemies will rarely target you, and youre constantly giving them new targets to prioratize over you. 

= = Rotation = =

You're precasting Otherworldly Blast before every skill to animation cancel. If you want to make sure it's going off, keep an eye on the spirit gauge and youll see it tick twice (OB+Whatever). During your sig, spam Otherworldly Blast+Eternal Flames during downtime to get the few extra OBs out while empowered. Otherwise its CD whackamole with OB before every cast.

Use your signature  when you have 6 illusions up, and can guarentee the target stands in range. While buffed, recast your dots to make the most out of snapshotting.

During sig, spam ->->. We're using Eternal Darkness purely to give us OB charges, that when empowered make the modified burst rotation worth it. Otherwise continue as normal, and if you can try to lay down a final  before the sig buffs wear off, giving you an additional 8 seconds of empowered dots. We're trying to cast long lasting abilities like dots while empowered, as they will take the buff effects and hold on to them during the whole duration. This is called snapshotting.

Fun Gaz Fact: Eternal Darkness actually has 3 hidden charges with individual CDs that are not shown in your skill bar. While playing, youll get a sense of their internal cooldowns. All this means is you cant spam this like other ground dots, as youre limited.

+ Melee Setup
For a Melee setup, simply swap the Glacial Shard filler for Gram, while keeping everything the same. The damage output is slightly higher but it then runs the risks of being in the fray. Also worth noting, Gram is even more of a spirit hose, so make sure youre gear can sustain it.

 

= = Talents = =

Row 1, (1): Maker gives us three more illusions, which correlates with the Light Beam damage and overall survivability
Row 2, (1): Cold Snap, auto crits and gives ice damage. This will be our hardest hitter, as well as a full AOE screen hit.
Row 3, (3): Ice damage, quick autos stacks our chanceonhits, gets us going 0-100 quicker.
Row 4, (3): With TBUE, the element scaling is stronger so we opt for +Darkness to go with our Eternal Darkness.
Row 5, (1): Technically (1) is your biggest damage talent, but if you can value the invisibility and agro drop from Misdirection more go (2), with the 10% (20% in TBUE) ice damage being swapped for darkness damage is a QOL choice. 

= = Gearing Alternatives = =

Why Cobras in Slot 5?
Cobra stats are fantastic for Loki. Our vulnerability is covered with Permafrost Spikes, so we're just enjoying the stats.

What Gear is important?
For spirit uptime a Zola or a Catalyst with Spirit Medkit, ideally both for sustained engagements.

Insignia: The priority for insignias is less the base, and more the rolled affixes. We really value CritDam and CritHit, since we want our stuff to crit as much as possible (crithit gatekeeps critdam/brutstrike/brutdam) and then Critdam is one of the best stats-per-affix on that slot. Overall, we want to prio CritDam>CritHit>BrutStrike. Even with Cold Snap's autocrit, brutstrike barely loses out in testing.
Brutal Damage isn't great for insignias due to how low it rolls compared to its usual stat weight. 1000 CritDam is worth twice the weight of 1000 BrutDam.

Pet Note:
Usually not worth talking about pets but it's been asked; the cosmic (4th) row is whatever can work best. It's a very minor bump. I'd just like to highlight that Power Radius can be surprisingly nice for a few of your abilities to really get extra screen clear.

150 ip -> Mental Focus (INT)
152 ip -> Temporal Loophole (SPE)
150 ip -> Strike Through (STR)
150 ip -> Durability Node (DUR)
Extra ip -> Intelligence Node (INT)
Putting .6 points into Crit% and Brut% will round up to +1.0%

Once 600+ ip, there is some fine tuning you can do with Temporal Loophole and finding your best AttackSpeed%. Since AS% depends on diminishing returns it might be the best damage per IP. If youre asking those kind of questions though, you may be past this guide.

 

= = Leveling / Early Gearing = =

While leveling spirit will be your main concern with this. This can be remedied with artifacts, catalysts, synergy (use loki's own synergy!) or if youre lucky a good pet spirit-on-basic blue roll. Realistically, the best approach is to modify the build somewhat to accomadate the lack of sustain.

For better sustain. you can drop the 3rd row talent completely (Swap to 3:1) and revert the basic back to its original ranged filler. This will hurt overall damage a bit, but if it sustains you more then it is worth it. Alternatively you can try to swap to Spatial Deception, although this forces you into melee range which I believe is not the point of this setup.

Gear wise you can use predominately Loki's own uniques that should drop in plentiful amounts, and start chasing things like the slot 5 Cobra's when you have the other basics covered. We do not need the vuln from Cobra's, its purely for the great stats. The main artifact I would try to prioratize is Zola's, for the sustain as well as the solid single damage buff it gives.
