Hello! This is a guide to get you through the Cosmic Trial with Ant-Man. Note: This is NOT the best Ant-Man. It is NOT end game Ant-Man. You will not find the BiS items in this build.

Alot of the most popular Ant-Man builds are melee and are most definitely more damage than this build. I like this one because Ant-Man is quite squishy and this keeps him at range and allows him to play a little safer.

Set Up

I capped myself at 150 Infinity Points for these trial guides. It won't take too long to build up that many. By the time you've leveled up a few characters for synergies and farmed some Heroic (Red) Challenges and terminals for some gear you may even be past 150 IP when you try the trial. Worst thing that can happen when you try the trial is you fail there is no punishment. So give it a shot and see if you're missing damage, survivability or both.

Not all end game builds work equally well with less IP and gear. I tried a couple of the builds that already existed and found one that worked well to get through the Cosmic Trial.

Synergies

Physical damage bonuses, + brut damage, + int and speed stats, also Area Damage is good for him. Angela, Beast, Cable, Elektra, Moon Knight, Nightcrawler, She Hulk, Wolverine, Ultron, and Squirrel Girl.
Goblin, Torch and Magneto offer area damage bonuses and would be good for this build as well.

Infinities

I went with the Time Stone - Temporal Loophole for increased Movement Speed and Attack Speed.

Gear

I decided to go with  for my legendary. At i80 Axe is better but at i70 I go with this one.

In the artifact slots I put on some fairly easy to farm artifacts. The biggest difference for damage is to make sure to bless them with .
  - This can be farmed off Loki waves in ICP. Not the easiest farm but if you put in time trying to get a cosmic version you'll end up with tons of these.

 - Can be farmed off Crossbones in Patrols. Make sure you find a + Intelligence version.
- Very easy to find artifact. Great starter artifact.
- Can be farmed off Wizard.

Slot 1-5 I used Ant-Man's on Uniques. They were fine. I have played around with using . If you have one it's a good stat stick. Ants are not summons so you don't benefit from the +to summon aspects of the spear but the other stats are nice.

Our medkit is pretty important as well. Get a catalyst that gives you back spirit on medkit use to help combat the steady spirit drain we have with this build. Shield on medkit use is a gamechanger for durability.

 - I used this relic for Area bonus and also it was an opportunity not to use  like most other heroes use.

For medallion I used  for the power radius.

Any Cosmic Ring will be fine. If you can find one w/ your archetype stats on it that will be the most damage. Low priority piece of gear for this point in the game.

is a good runeword for this point in the game.

Team Up

Jessica Jones would be very useful. I used Wasp because its thematically appropriate.

Playstyle

We're going to stay ranged, stay mobile and keep our DoTs ticking while also making sure not to over cast our DoTs.

 - This is our left click, our filler and our consistent ant resource generator. Hits in a wide area.

- Our first of the two DoTs. Drone strike is a big circle that you put on the ground. If you increase your power radius with items and talents it will affect a larger area than what is shown on the animation. If you hold shift and hover over the power you can see how much area it covers. This has a 6 second cooldown. Keep it up at all times but don't over cast it so you can be efficient with your ants to get more tidal waves off.

- Our 2nd DoT. Also with a 6s CD. Same as with Drone Strike keep it up but don't over cast it. Use the two together and this one should be casted first as it applies vulnerable.

 - This is also DoT. 8s CD. 6s duration. Use it on CD to generate Ants. It does not cost Ants.

 - Use on CD. Not area, not a DoT. It does not cost Ants. It does generate Ants. 6s CD. Can be used to time your 2 main DoTs. Cast  and then . Then you know your 2 DoTs are expired when this is available to cast again.

 - Use on CD. Decent damage. Cool animation. Generates Ants.

 - This will look like your biggest source of damage. It certainly hits the hardest. Keeping the DoTs up is alot more damage though. Ideally we generate enough Ants to have our DoTs up in rotation and get our Ant resource to cap. This can only be casted when capped on Ants. Then you use the wave. Don't sacrifice any DoTs to use this though it will be a DPS loss. Due to a talent sometimes (15%) you will cast this and not spend Ants and you can cast it again.

Don't use  right after . If you're still big from your signature it will shoot the wave off from Giant Man's chest area and it will go over the enemies and do no damage.

 - For dodging and CC break. If you're confident about your positioning you can take this off your bar and use  to instantly get a full Ant Bar for more  casts.

Hopefully this helps you clear the Cosmic Trial so that you can start farming your best gear and move on to bigger and better content and bigger and better guides! Have fun out there.

Thanks!
