Hello! This is a guide to get you through the Cosmic Trial with Jean Grey. Note: This is NOT the best Jean Grey. It is NOT end game Jean Grey. You will not find the BiS items in this build. Set Up

I capped myself at 150 Infinity Points for these trial guides. It won't take too long to build up that many. By the time you've leveled up a few characters for synergies and farmed some Heroic (Red) Challenges and terminals for some gear you may even be past 150 IP when you try the trial. Worst thing that can happen when you try the trial is you fail there is no punishment. So give it a shot and see if you're missing damage, survivability or both.

Not all end game builds work equally well with less IP and gear. I tried a couple of the builds that already existed and found one that worked well to get through the Cosmic Trial. 

Synergies

In the build I put the synergies that I had available. Looking for mental damage as much as possible. Notable synergies I did not have that would be good are: Beast and Ultron for +1 Int. Dr Strange for more mental damage and Torch for more area damage.

Infinities

We only have one really hard hitting ability in the build and it is a guaranteed brutal strike. So I went with Potency - The Reality Gem. This provided me with bonus damage to my signature and also to . It doesn't say it anywhere in the tooltips but you can check the damage on it w/ points in potency and w/out and see the damage number change.

Gear 

- As a level 70 legendary this thing is just really well statted. At lvl 80  is your best option.

I used Jeans own uniques for slots 1-5 and used the random challenge bonus at the crafter to add either energy or intelligence. I'd prefer int but in the interest of saving time and materials I kept whichever of the two I got. 

     These are the 4 artifacts I chose as fairly easy to farm up options that were good for Jean. We are doing mental damage with this version of her, so no energy damage artifacts. Other good options could be:       

Use Hela Blessings on your artifacts. They can be transferred to new artifacts when you find better. A good source of power early on.

- This helped w/ keeping Spirit up.

 - We benefit from most of the stats on here and the +1 to all stats for a cosmic version. Really we're interested in the power duration. 

For Ring I went with a stock yellow  with crit and INT.      would be better options.

- I really wanted crit hit/crit damage. The Phoenix bonus was ok too.

 - The spirit on medkit use and the shield on medkit use are really important. There's no reason not to go the crafter and put Critical Damage on all 4 affixes as well.

 

Team Up

Jessica Jones is my Team Up of choice for Cosmic Trial. Her grouping and tanking is invaluable.

Playstyle

 

 - Filler. On the left click. Hold this down and just fire away.

 

- Vulnerable and DOT layer. Throw it out on groups. Lasts 8s. 

 

- DOT. Lasts 8s.

 

- Evade. Break CC.

 

- Signature use on CD.

 

- Big Damage AOE. Big CD. Don't waste it.

 

- Use on CD. Lowers CD of signature. CD is 8s can use this to time your DoTs if you want to. Cast DoTs before this. Then when this is off CD again you know its time to recast your DoTs.

 

- Damage ability. Use on CD.

 

Not too much complexity here. Throw your DoTs on enemies. Toss out your Signature. Then use the slam (slam reduces sig CD so always use it after). Everything else use on CD. Make sure you use your CDs before using  as you can't do anything while you channel this.
