Hey everyone, Deadpool here!

Okay, so, we're just going to skip the part where I lay some cringe on and pretend to be Deadpool while writing the guide. Save us all some sanity. Still sane, Exile? Deadpool is one of my favorite characters in Marvel and thankfully the devs did a good job with his updates in this game. It gives a good feeling of how Deadpool fights and some of that merc spice most fans of the character love. With the intro out of the way let's get to the build details!

Awesome
Deadpool's special "resource" is Awesome! it replaces spirit and gives us a number of benefits the more of it we have (or are?)! First it gives us Base Damage (5% of Awesome) and Health (10% of Awesome). Sure sounds awesome, doesn't it? Well that's not all! Some of our abilities get secondary scaling benefits from Awesome as well! Namely
(
for us due to talent choice) and
. This means that for this build Awesome is not only worth stacking it's Awesome! Also none of our abilities cost any resource so Deadpool functions purely on cooldowns.

Gear
Slot 1 : No surprise
makes an appearance, almost like it's overbudget as hell and insanely good on 90% of the characters in the game! Deadpool has some solid slot 1s to hold you over until you get one.
Slot 2 : Testing was very close between
and
but Wade's own slot 2 won out for me after about 600 IP.
Slot 3 :
are great and very pointy.
Slot 4 :
Fasionable and very good!
Slot 5 :
tested best for me, though I wouldn't be surprised if a version with
won out in some variations.
Medallions :
is my medallion of choice for the power duration, it helps make everything feel comfy for me and has some solid benefits overall. I've also had
test very well. Dealer's choice.
Runewords : No surprise
is best. Until you can get that use
or
for cheap alternatives while waiting for the event.
Rings :
has so many good stats for us. A good cosmic at higher IP is also very good.
also a good alternative if you don't have either.
Artifacts :
,
, and
are pretty locked in for me.
is only available in some less frequent events so while waiting for said events for the event ones to come around use
or
. Other solid alternatives are
,
,
,
and can act as hold-overs until you get the main ones listed first.
For legendary : Use
until you get the GLF rep required for
. It takes five weeks!
Rotation
A solid benefit of playing Deadpool is he doesn't have much of a rotation, mostly I'll lump them into shorter (4 seconds) and longer (8 seconds) cooldown groupings. An easy way to keep track of the longer cooldowns is by using your shorter cooldowns as soon as they're available. Often time it'll be : All cooldowns > Short cooldowns > All cooldowns and will continue cycling like this. One thing to keep in mind is to be careful you don't clip the animation too early for
or you will miss out on the hit and ground dot due to how some abilities are coded in this game. It's a feature!
Hold down
on your primary target.
I then loosely follow this priority order :
>
>
>
>
> ![]()
The real juice is weaving in
for repositioning which can feel very dynamic bouncing around with
as well. They both also have iframes so timing them well can feel very rewarding and gives Deadpool this very fast frenetic feel to his rotation which is how he's often depicted fighting in wider media.
Team-up
We stan Clea in this household. Important affix for the cosmic Team-up gear to keep an eye out for are what I have on her pieces above. As always Coulson, Jessica Jones, Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, Deadpool variants and Quicksilver are all also good choices for active Team-up. Overall it doesn't really matter much since they don't really do that much damage and are mostly for utility and/or fun factor so use whoever you want. The affix on their gear is what mostly matters so make sure you look for the right ones!
Wrapping up...

Thank you for sticking with me this long! I will continue updating the guide as I play, including gameplay videos after 1.0 launch. More to come...
