A detailed non spirit focused hack and slash guide!

INTRO

Hey guys it's livia again, back with yet another guide, my focus this time will be wolverine a hero that I honestly never imagined I would play, but I was asked by SuperDummy to make it and I just couldn't deny it, so this guide is to you buddy, I hope you like it!
Now, let's first take a look into how little devil performs by listing his pros and cons:

PROS

- Very easy to play

- Very agile

- Very tough (given the right circumstances)

- Great single target damage

- Rides a motorcycle

CONS

- Lacks AOE

- Small hitboxes on his attacks

- Can be spirit hungry (sometimes)

MECHANICS

Wolverine is hero that has a special spirit bar called fury, and it's gained whenever he is hit, or when you hit with a basic attack, fury only affects one of wolverine's powers  however, despite looking like a good power, it's damage isn't worth the trouble of stacking spirit, Wolverine's true strength hides behind his ability to stack different forms of bleeding and build damage from that, but to say that we must take into consideration our powers and why we're picking each one of them:

This is our source o vulnerability and one of the most versatile forms of bleeding, due to our itemization, bloody sweep is a great weapon for clearing trash mobs, just dash into a wave, pop it twice and move on, anything hit by it, will die to your bleeding effect, however when facing bosses you wanna reaply it every 6 seconds to refresh your bleeding.

Our very own gap close, crimson leap will dash to a target location to deal damage and apply bleeding, you can you it to dash between trash mob waves while clearing them with bloody sweep, or you can just use it every 6 seconds to stack bleeding on bosses, making this our second bleeding power.

Thanks to Hardened Outlook trait now our basic applies bleeding making it our third and last form of bleeding to stack on the enemies, being a basic power, there isn't much nuance to it, just hold down the filler to stay alive and keep generating fury.

KEEP HITTING TO STAY ALIVE!

While this is true for basically all heroes, in wolverine's case, it's even more crucial, Wolverine is not a glass canon, however if you get zoned out of damage or simply can't find an opening to avoid damage and hit your target, you can see your hp bar drop quite fast leading to some scary scenarios.
Use Wolverine's mobility to your adavantage and you'll be fine in almost every scenario!

TALENTS & TRAITS

As previously mentioned Hardened Outlook makes our basic power enhanced giving it the ability to apply bleeding, on top of that it gives our bleeding power damage a nice 20% damage boost, considering the fact that we use 3 different types of bleeding, this trait is a no brainer for our damage output, to top it all of, it even helps us with fury generation, cuz whenever we hit a bleeding enemy now, we'll generate even more fury due to our new passive effect, making this the best talent for us to choose from by a mile.

I know this doesn't seem like much, but stacking bleeding will pay off, trust me, the only thing to keep in mind here, is that Savage Slash is not worth taking, it burns through your spirit bar way too fast, for a damage that pales in comparisson to all the bleeding stack provided by Bloody Claws, Building Momentum and Punishing Strike are great options on paper, but the execution is a little clumsy and not really worth the headache.

Yes I know what your thinking, Brutality buffs bleeding powers and eviscerate, so why not take it?; the answer is, while Brutality buffs bleeding and eviscerate, Let's Make This Quick buffs not only all of our powers, but also the bleedings making it unmatched in this talent row, the only downside is that it increasses our own damage recieved by 10%, however we can adjust that with gears and our very own playstyle.

Deep cuts makes Bloody Claws really shine increassing the bleeding damage to really absurd levels, there's really nothing else that matches it's utility.

Savage Instincts is pretty self explanatory, it gives us room to fill our power bar with a damage dealing move, you really won't need wetwork outside of boss fights, so this fits Wolverine perfectly!

ROTATION

Ah yes the part that everyone loves, how does Wolverine actually works?
Honestly the answer is however you want!
Ok lemme, explain there are no secrets to his playstyle, as long as you keep hiting a target with your bleeding powers, then you'll be dealing damage, if you're dealing damage you're healing and if you're healing, you're not dying.
Here's how I personally like to do it:

Start with  it's an easy gap close with decent range and our first bleeding stack, after that follow with  to apply vulnerability and the second bleed stack, then pop your signature  use all 3 charges to make your next  or  a guaranteed brutal strike (Run Through will deal morde damage, but the difference is pretty small), then hit  and hold down  after that the rotation is just about maintaining your bleeding stacks and letting your signature stack 3 times before you land  or .

PS: Tornado Claw hit's in a small hitbox around you, so this can be a min max when dealing with large groups of elite enemies, wich can come in hendy inscenarios like danger room.

So to simplify:  >  > 3x  >  >  >  all this while holding down

Ok all this is for a boss fight scenario, let's say you're using Wolverine on Kurse terminal now, here's what I would do:

Use  to close the gap to a trash mob wave, pop  twice, if there happens to be another trash mob wave nearby, then use  to jump from one to another, otherwise dash away, I guarantee you no trash mob will be standing after 2 Bloody Sweeps, so leave them bleeding to death.
For mini bosses you don't always have to stack your signature, as using 2 charges usually takes care of the job, it's all about finding your flow.

Alright moving on...

UNIQUES

Slot 1:  arguably the best unique in the game, fragment covers all of our needs, great damage output and survivability through the health on hit
As a place holder his own unique  will be a good placeholder for starters.

Slot 2: Here's where I begin to disagree with most builds in bugle, I strongly believe  to be the best option, it has attack speed, lots of defensive stats to keep us standing and a decent damage bonus, but the most important part, it has power duration wich will increasse the duration of our bleeds, making it easier for us to deal with trash waves, if you need a bit more damage then you can use his own slot 2 .

Slot 3:  fills all the boxes it's easy to get and you can't get better than that, however let's say you wanna be a tanky little devil, then use

Slot 4: Here you have 2 options, in my view  is more versatile, while a cosmic slot 4 with cosmic might affix and BSR/CDR will hold damage output advantage, but keep in mind that Skrull uniform also has power duration making our life so much easier.

Slot 5: Just use his own unique  for this, nothing beats it.

So the thing is, while crit and brut damage goes a long way, attack speed and power duration are also wolderfull stats to have and when you consider the utility provided, it just makes it 10x better than being a brutal walking machine, just something to think about.

ARTIFACTS

Here's some replacements for our top 4 artifact choices:

can replace  the testings proved the difference to be minimal 2 - 3 seconds really

can replace  but in this case you'll only be doing it for TTL wich is not really needed if you stick to the unique choices in this build.

can replace  however, Kraven is better, so just use it if you don't have Kraven's artifact yet.

can replace  in case you don't have a GOK yet.

MEDALLIONS

To no one's surprise  is our best option, if you're having a hard time getting one, or rolling for one, you could use one of these:

INSIGNIAS

First of all, I highly recommend you focus on the stats before the actual insignia in itself, let's say you have a Cyclops insignia but the rolls are all red and you have a She Hulk insignia with all green, then I would go with that one, now that being said, this is the order of insignias I would use:     .

RINGS

The dream here is to go for a cosmic ring with 3 durability and CDR/BDR or even brutal strike will work, this is our best offensive option.

The  is a fine deffensive choice, not really needed in here thou, but the attack speed and crit rating is more than welcome, so if you want it, I guess it wouldn't hurt that bad, just keep in mind, this is a huge loss of dps.

OTHER GEARINGS

RELICS:  is really the only option here, I highly recommend you stick to it.

URU: Take  with  enchant, for physical characters the power doop is really the only option.

LEGENDARY: For level 80  if you're new to the game, stick to

CATALYST: Try to get a genetic mutation that has shield on med kit usage, combine that with the health and fury regen on medkit, aside from that 3 Fighting or Durability doesn't really matter, so pick any, and try to grab health on hit, as spirit shouldn't be really a problem, the last affix isn't really important, so just don't bother.

INFINITY

Spae Gem: 150 points into health (yes flat health, 6 points into durability won't save you from being squishy).

Mind Gem: 150 points into crit damage.

Power Gem: 150 points into brut damage.

Time Gem: 152 points into mov/attack speed.

Soul Gem : 6 points into Fighting (150 infinity points).

This is your priority and basically the infinity points I own at the moment, if you happen to have more, I recommend getting the full value from time gen by getting as much attack speed as possible, and investing 200 into reality gem for more signature damage, after that I would go all out on fighting!

THE END

Alright were at the end of another very fun experience, as always I hope you like this guide and I hope it helps if you're struggling to find a playstyle that is enjoyable, I gotta say, Wolverine really is a fun hero, he's far from being meta, but he can be pretty fascinating.
