Lanceor's Dark Matter Silver Surfer

 

This is an all-purpose Silver Surfer that can handle all content in the game from The Rift all the way to Omega Muspelheim. It balances DPS, quality-of-life and survivability.

 

Great for:

• Patrols - grouping bosses, screen-wide trash clear, facetank most Cosmic MM bosses at 500+ IP
• Raids - massive party wide healing, teleport around the battlefield
• Terminals - teleport through walls, screen-wide trash clear (full bounties!)
• Everything really - no significant weaknesses + incredible health/spirit sustain

 

 

How it Works

Deconstruct, Reconstruct and Singularity are used as a continuous "manually activated aura" providing screen-wide trash clear, massive health and spirit regen as well as buffing your main DPS skill.

 

The Dark Matter talent at row 4:2 turns our signature power almost into a regular skill with two charges and a 15s cooldown. Other skills and gear choices take advantage of the frequent sig use.

 

 

How to Use

 

Activate your "aura" whenever in combat:

•  Deconstruct every 6 seconds - screenwide DOT, spirit regen and EMF buff
•  Reconstruct immediately after Deconstruct - huge health regen. Reconstruct and Deconstruct reduce each others' cooldowns!
•  Singularity every 3 seconds. Singularity does not interrupt any other skill, so it's free DPS against anything in melee range!

Too complicated? It is allowable to set up a mouse/keyboard macro to cycle through 1-2-3 as long as it's one press, one action. Thus you just press the button a few times when you see that one of the skills is on cooldown.

 

 

Against bosses and tougher enemies:

• Hold  Electromagnetic Flux (EMF) for continuous DPS. 
• Drop  Subspace Rift at their feet for an additional DOT and to buff EMF
• Fire  Temporal Recall to increase your attack speed and stun everything around you ready for...
• Drop  Event Horizon Your signature ability. Groups up the stunned enemies, deals some hefty damage, resets all your cooldowns and further buffs EMF.

 

 

•  Subspace Slipstream replaces Board Dash. This is basically a long ranged teleport with no cooldown that can pass through walls. It does have some cons (less responsive, no CC removal) so try both and use whichever you prefer.

 

 

But wait! There's more!

Cosmically Enhanced A.R.M.O.R Dimensional Power Portal Generator creates an area that massively buffs crit damage every time you use your signature. Its cooldown is 15 - the same as your signature's.

 

Sling Ring of the Kamar-Taj (energy) gives you two seconds of invulnerability whenever you use your signature, so you can time it to shrug off telegraphed attacks, or just lower your attrition rate while in the middle of a pack of enemies.

 

 

Help! I don't have all your cool gear!

Cosmically Enhanced A.R.M.O.R Dimensional Power Portal Generator and Siege's Cosmically Enhanced Targeting System can be both be purchased from Jocasta in Avengers tower. Farm those A.R.M.O.R. Research Drives at the next A.R.M.O.R. event (check your server's calendar.)

 Cosmically Enhanced Gem of the Kursed and Cosmically Enhanced Crossbones's Teaching Credentials are farmed from Kurse and Crossbones respectively. The Crossbones one can be particularly hard to get. Non Cosmic versions are still good.

 Cosmically Enhanced Skrull Energy Rifle Focusing Crystal  and  Cosmically Enhanced A.R.M.O.R. Supercharged Power Cell are considered best in slot for many Surfer Builds. The latter is also available from Jocasta.

 

  are all decent budget artifacts and are often given away for free if you ask nicely.

 

 For rings, a cosmic with any three of +3 Energy / +3 Speed / Crit Rate / Crit Damage / Brutal Rating / Brutal Damage will do nicely and should be easy to obtain.

 

 The Power Doop is a cheap alternative to Bowazon if you can't find a Tyr rune. God of Mischief also works well if you just happen to have one floating around.

 

 Surfer's own slot 1 and slot 5 uniques are quite decent if you don't have the resources for a Fragment of Twilight or an Essence of Jinn.

 

 

Vanilla, TAHITI or Council of Ancients?

This guide works equally well on both vanilla and the TAHITI servers. TAHITI's Biggest Update Ever (released 21st October 2026) buffed Silver Surfer's DPS (my 1:06 Kurse time was for TBUE), but the only functional changes were to movement skills.

 

I've only dabbled on CoA so I can't write an authoritative guide for it but I do know that their 50% cooldown makes the Deconstruct/Reconstruct combo spammable and quite overpowered.
