Actually, you should stop  sometimes to do the other attacks, and then resume vipering them like a boss.

Your virus (line 2 of your talents and traits) will only be active with the right combination of the other traits. So don't just change it. Check if you really have one of each type of trait on lines 1, 3 and 5.

A: I don't really care. It's good against grouped up non-boss enemies.

A: Because it can only shoot ONE enemy at a time. This is not a TTK test build, that only works against stupid dummy targets. This is for using in all PVE content.

A: Because I'd be giving up the ability to spam , due to the Hyper's terrible cooldown. Simply put, I don't like it because it keeps me from feeling like a boss.
