This build focus on using melee illusions while you stay at range to avoid danger. Loki seems to be gear-dependent. He started out weak for me, but once I geared him up well he become one of the easier heroes to clear most content: safe and strong.

DAMAGE TYPE

Go for Mental Damage over Summon Damage. As far as I can tell, in this version of the game Mental Damage applies to your illusions at the same ratio as Summon Damage, so there seems to be no reason to go for the latter as Mental will apply to your illusions AND all your other spells.

TALENT DAMAGE TYPE

You'll have 2 Light and 2 Darkness talents, buffing all your spells by +20%.

TALENTS

Row 1: Simple choice. More illusions and more illusion damage.

Row 2: Simple choice. No longer lose your illusions when you blow them up.

Row 3: Simple choice. Your vulnerability spell now also makes enemies take an extra 20% damage from your illusions.

Row 4: Why not Light Beam? I just don't like the behaviour of ranged illusions and the way you summon them spaced around you, making you lose the "siliding" effect of Illusionary Projection. Melee illusions can be repositioned to keep the enemies on them and away from you much more easily. Eternal Darkness is also a good spell that puts Weaken and Terrify on enemies.

Row 5: Bouncing Bolt becomes a decent filler, doing decent damage to a primary target while bouncing and helping clear adds. It's also Darkness so we don't split our passive damage bonus from talents too much. (Note on Cold Front: The shield is not worth losing the invisibility, in my opinion. The combination of melee illusions and you becoming invisible on teleport makes it so much easier to keep the enemy AI not focus on you.)

ROTATION

and  will generate illusions. No need to go melee or have  on your bar.

       are used on cooldown.

 for DoT, weaken and terrify.

 is the filler.

Our signature  has both a self-buff and a close-range DoT which is good to clear packs of elites, but the DoT component is not impressive damage against bosses. Use it when it's safe to go near melee, or else just press it for the buff.

 GEAR OPTIONS

is the absolute best slot 1 for almost any hero. That said you may not have one or may not spend one on this hero, so I left Loki's own slot 1 in the build.

and  are pretty close for slot 4. Boots might have slightly better damage while Apple gives you a cheat-death mechanic.

is good too if you don't have a

and  may be hard to come by.  is a good option, and for the ring you can just pick a cosmic with whatever stats you feel like boosting at the moment. I'm currently using a Crit Dmg + Crit Dmg + Int ring  myself. Same goes for Insignias and Catalysts, use them to round up the build. They're also a good place to get some +Health if you're feeling too squishy. You won't be face tanking anything but you will get hit occasionaly and want to survive busrt damage.

is just broken OP. But if you don't have or don't wanna spend a Doop rune on him,  is solid, or  if you're still struggling with Spirit.

Finally...  seems like a weird choice. But this artifact seems to just give me the damage bonus even when not above 90%. I don't know if it's a bug or some hidden mechanic where the buff is staying on for a while, long enough to max out your health again. In any case, in lots of situations you can comfortably stay above 90% health with this build as the illusions take the brunt of the attacks. And 2000 damage rating is hard to pass. Alternatives for artifacts are         or the much easier to get  and  if you need some health and survivability early on.

is the best ilevel 70 legendary until you upgrade to a ilevel 80 one.

INFINITY

Long term, the Crit + Brutal nodes seem to be best. However at low amounts of points (which is probably what most people have right now on TAHITI) I'm finding raising Attributes better. I made the sample build with around 420 points which is what I have at the moment.

Get the Mind Gem to 150 points first for Int and spirit cost reduction; then Space Gem to 150 for Durability and medkit bonus; and then Time Gem to 100 or more for extra speed and +1 charge on teleport both of which help you avoid all the nastiness thrown at you more easily!

If using Power Doop get 1 rank on the Energy and Physical proc nodes to trigger the runeword bonuses.

HERO SYNERGY

Didn't bother picking since at this moment in the game most people will have vastly different rosters. But Loki's own synergy is good for cost reduction; then just go for whatever has your Attributs, Mental Damage, Crit, Brutal and/or Health.
