Hello! This is a guide to help you clear the cosmic trial on low IP with common gear you can easily find anywhere. While this isn't an endgame Moon Knight build, it will help you get used to the end game playstyle of risk/reward of BIG RED NUMBERS while maintaining low health.
Clear Video:
Set Up
I followed the guidelines Lil set in his guides, which is a cap of 150 infinity points, and nothing that requires a ridiculous amount of grinding. 150 infinity points does not require too much grinding. To quote Lil.
I capped myself at 150 Infinity Points for these trial guides. It won't take too long to build up that many. By the time you've leveled up a few characters for synergies and farmed some Heroic (Red) Challenges and terminals for some gear you may even be past 150 IP when you try the trial. Worst thing that can happen when you try the trial is you fail there is no punishment. So give it a shot and see if you're missing damage, survivability or both.
The purpose of this build is to get in their faces with as little health as possible and beat your enemies to death. Moon Knight is not for the faint of heart because his gameplay relies on being at low health as much as possible.
Synergies
I used mostly typical physical damage synergies. X-23 was picked because is a bleed with 100% uptime, and Venom was picked because you will almost always be below 50% health.
Infinities
I dumped points into temporal loophole - attack speed is always a good choice, and an extra dash never hurts.
Gear
- I wanted to kill everything fast so I used the best ilvl 70 dps legendary. Moon Knight's playstyle can make him squishy, making
is a valid choice.
Artifacts: The artifacts I used are all common easy to find ones that don't require target farming.
,
, and
all raise crit rating and/or brutal rating so you can get some nice orange and red numbers. If you have boss artifacts such as
and
, use them because they're better dps.
Slots 1-5: I mostly used Moon Knight's uniques because honestly, his uniques are very strong. I used in slot 4 because it's best in slot for damage because you'll almost always be below 50% health, but if you don't feel comfortable using a glass cannon item, Moon Knight's slot 4,
is a very good choice too.
Ring: I used a brutal rating and durability cosmic ring to get BIGGER REDDER NUMBERS. However, I listed a cosmic defensive ring because this playstyle is very risky, and Moon Knight has plenty of dps to spare.
Medallion: is best in slot for raw damage. Other good choices are
and
.
Catalyst: +5 spirit/armor on hit is an affix you want so you can build tribute faster, but it's not listed on mhbugle. Aside from that affix, you also want the typical 50% health on shield.
Team Up
Jessica Jones, grouping up enemies is really good. Quicksilver does the same thing but on a higher cooldown if you're tired of Jessica Jones.
Playstyle
You're going to be punching a lot while you see them bleed.
- This is your filler, you're always holding down this button/key.
also works if you want to build tribute faster.
- This is your dash, it does dash things like dodge big red cones and circles.
- This is good trash clear and a strong dot layer thanks to the talent in the third row. I would save it for elites because it is a cooldown power so you can't just constantly use it.
- This also good trash clear, and it powers up your melee attacks. Use it liberally. It's a cooldown power, but it's a short 3 second cooldown.
- Another good trash clear power, unlike the other two, this one you can spam as much you want. I recommend using this against weaker mobs. Be sure use it occasionally on single targets to maintain the dot.
- This is a strong cooldown layer with a dot. It also helps us build tribute, which when full lets us use...
- This puts you at 1 health for 8 seconds, which not only means all of your attacks will hit incredibly hard, it makes you invincible for the entire 8 seconds, so dps away while this is up.
- Moon Knight's signature. It is an obscene amount of single target burst with a very satisfying double-handed slam ender. Save it for stronger elites and Madame Hydra + Skull.
Hopefully this guide helps you clear the cosmic trial with ease so you can get big loot drops and those sweet cosmic artifacts. Thanks to Lil for the other Cosmic Trial guides and the format. He's doing great work helping out beginners and getting them into the end game.
Thanks for reading!
