~~ Loki: Flames of Surtur ~~

***Guide***

  Greetings my Fellow Asgardians. Kenespo here with my First Loki build; Flames of Surtur! This is a somewhat Hybrid Fire/Summoner build that can be easily swapped between Ranged and Melee without much change in DPS. The concept of the build is to layer as many DoTs and also utilize Loki's trait "Master Sorcerer" giving you a 25% damage bonus to summon powers. I will try to make this Guide as comprehensive as possible to explain why I went the direction I did.

  So to start off, I always thought Loki's Illusions were some of the coolest summons in the game and the idea to make a build involving them is what I wanted to do. Yet it seems when I went full Summoner/Light build on Loki, my DPS was lacking. So I decided to test out possible Hybrid builds that still had the First two talents "Master of Mischief" and "Refracting Burst". With these two talents, I'm able to constantly have six Illusions fighting with me.

  From that point I did some testing on what combination of Talents and Skills would give me Great DPS with a fluid rotation. I found this part quite daunting because of Loki's incredible diversity of possible builds. With the results I gathered, I came to the conclusion that his Fire talents were the best choice for optimal DPS with amazing DoTs (and they look super badass). With the Fire Talents chosen, it was a difficult process to then choose what skills to use. Ideally, I would have liked to have two more skills slotted on the action bar, but there are only eight so I had to figure out which skills maximized my DPS and use those.

 

***Abilities***

 

  The skills I choose to go with are: Spatial Deception, Eternal Flame, Incinerate, Illusionary Projection, Unyielding Power, Searing Embers, Refracting Ruin, and Otherworldly Blast.

  You'll notice that I have not included "Infernal Binding" on my skill bar, even though I took the Talent that enhances it. I tested multiple builds where "Infernal Bindings" replaced different skills on the bar and came to find out that with it on the skill bar I have slightly less DPS. In an ideal world it would be nice to have it on the skill bar, but since Loki has so many options we have to pick and choose. Keep in mind that I choose "Infernal Binding" instead of "Light beam" for a couple reasons. First off, the "Infernal Bindings" Talent give me 10% more damage to my Fire abilities, which is where most of my damage comes from. Also the "Light Beam" Talent increases the Spirit cost of the ability, which Loki already has some issues with in longer fights. Lastly, with "Refracting Ruin" being my big burst, long cooldown ability, it's better to have all my Illusion stacked on the enemy instead of scattered around, shooting from range.

  I also do not have "Misdirection" on my skill bar because there just isn't enough room with 8 skill slots. Removing something to include "Misdirection" would hinder overall DPS. I mainly use my Travel Power to get places now and I make sure I have time to Run out of 1 shot enemy abilities because I can't teleport out.

  To simply change this build from Melee to Range, I swap out "Spatial Deception" for "Staff Blast". The melee build might have a slight advantage in DPS but it's so minimal I barely notice it. One thing to keep in mind if you do go with "Staff Blast" is to realize that it has a longer range then "Otherworldly Blast" and just make sure you are in range when using it.

 

***Rotation***

  Spatial Deception/Staff Blast to lock on > Eternal Flame > Illusionary Projection >  Incinerate > Unyielding Power > Otherworldly Blast > Searing Embers > Otherworldly blast > Illusionary Projection > Refracting Ruin

  Then just repeat the Rotation while using Searing Embers, Refracting Ruin and Unyielding Power as soon as they come off cooldown. Make sure to fill any down time with Spatial Deception/Staff Blast to gain back some Spirit. It is also important to use your Medkit with 100 Spirit Regen as often as possible.

  Also make sure your using Otherworldly Blast after every time you use Eternal Flame and Searing Embers.

 

***Gear***

  I haven't test a large variety of gear because most of my time was spent figuring out what Skills and Talents were best, but here is what I use with good results.

      Artifacts:

 Mental Focus Headband - DR, Int, and Spirit Regen

 Arnim Zola's ESP Box - DR, CHR, Int and Spirit on DoTs

 The Broken Crown - DR, CHR, BSR, Int and More Illusions!!!

 Crossbones's Teaching Credentials - DR, CHR, BSR, Int and a great proc to increase BDR

All with Blessing of Hela

  If I had all of those Cosmicly Enhanced (I don't), I would go for Spirit Reduction > +1 All Attributes > Reduced Signature Cooldown > Spirit or Health

  Other Artifacts that could work:  Sinister's Diamond, Essence of Dread, Ultron Encephalo-Beam, Magneto Was Right T-Shirt, 


       Armor:

Slot 1:

Spear of the White Gorilla Tribe  
Or Fragment of Twilight
Or Laevateinn (Loki's Unique)

Slot 2:

Eidolon Warwear

 Or Armor of Invincibility (Loki's Unique)  

Slot 3:

Ikol (Loki's Unique)  

Slot 4:

Seven League Boots (Loki's Unique)  

Slot 5:

Cobra's Hood  
Or Crown of Lies (Loki's Unique)


       Medallion:

Infernal War Skrull - DR for Summon Powers, Health, Int and good procs for Area, Ranged and Int.

I'm sure there are other options that are just as good if not better, I just haven't got around to testing them.


        Ring:

 Sling Ring of the Kamar-Taj - DR, CHR, Attack Speed and Health

Once again, I'm sure there are plenty of rings that are just as good if not maybe better, I have not got around to testing them.


        Catalyst:

 Just make sure you have +3 Int or +3 Dura and Health/Spirit on Medkit.

  Spirit on Hit, Invisibility on Medkit and Shield on Medkit are also good to have. Also, I have CDR for all four Affixes.


        Insignia:

 Insignia of Quake - Good Area Damage Proc and I had one with CHR/CDR.

Although there are plenty of other good option you can use. Mainly look for something with CDR.


        Runeword:

God of Mischief - I don't really care if it BiS... More Loki Illusions!!!

  Uru-Forged War Plate - +800 Defense Rating


       Legendary:

 The Warlocks Eye - i80

The Bow of Apollo - i80 and Gungir - i80 can also be good.


       Relics:

 Atlantis - CDR, Health

Xandar could work also.

 

        Team Up:

Clea - Great for extra Survivability.  

Plus she sticks with the whole Magic/Illusion them I'm going for.  But feel free to use who ever you like most.

 

      Hero Synergies:

 Cable - Dr. Strange - Emma Frost - Ghost Rider - Iron Fist - Magento - Squirrel Girl - Scarlet Witch - Ultron - Wolverine

 

       Infinity System:

I will delve deeper into this at a later date.  Try to atleast get 150 in Mind, Power, Space and Soul.
